Your protocols, saved results and progress are stored on your own device. You don’t need an account to use the app. On Pro and above you can link an email, which signs you in on the website and other devices and backs up your work. Export a backup at any time from Privacy and data in your profile.

Yes, with Pro, Lab or Campus. The phone app works on its own, with no account needed. On Pro and above, link an email in your profile and your plan, protocols and results open at benchmarkdesktop.com once the desktop version launches. Free and Plus stay on the phone, and you can export your work at any time.

Mark gathers information from scientific sources on the internet, such as PubMed and Europe PMC, and from BenchMark’s own calculators, protocols and videos. He sticks to science and lab work, won’t help with anything unsafe, and keeps units and chemical names in standard form. He can be wrong, so check his answers against your SOPs and the original source before you rely on them.

Verify a university email address (ending .ac.uk, .edu and similar) in your account and BenchMark Pro is £29.99 a year. We may ask you to confirm it again when your plan renews.

Calculators, your protocols and timers work offline once the app has loaded. Mark, paper search, videos and new languages need a connection.

Yes. Lab covers up to 10 people and is invoiced once a year. Campus covers up to 150 users with teaching tools and usage reports. Both are available as a free pilot first. Use the contact form and we’ll reply with a quote.

Cancel in Plan and billing in your profile, or through the store you subscribed in. You keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
